COL BKB: Ark-Pine Bluff 50, Tex. South. 38

BOSSIER CITY, La., March 13 (UPI) -- Tavaris Washington scored 14 points Saturday as Arkansas-Pine Bluff downed Texas Southern 50-38 to claim the Southwestern Athletic Conference Tournament crown.

The Golden Lions (17-15) got 11 points from Allen Smith netted 11 points while Lebaron Weathers, George Davis and Savalance Townsend each contributed six points in the win, which landed an NCAA Tournament berth for Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

Texas Southern (17-16) got 14 points and nine rebounds from DeAndre Hall while Junior Treasure chipped in with 14 points in the loss.
