OKLAHOMA CITY, March 12 (UPI) -- Russell Westbrook's two free throws with 6 seconds left Friday gave Oklahoma City a six-point lead and the Thunder held on to defeat New Jersey 104-102.
Kevin Durant scored 32 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for Oklahoma City, establishing a franchise record for most 30-point games in a season. Spencer Haywood had 35 such games during the 1972-73 season, when the team played in Seattle.
Jeff Green also had a season-best 27 points for the Thunder, winners of four in a row.
Oklahoma City had an 11-point lead to open the fourth period, during which New Jersey outscored the Thunder 31-22.
After Westbrook's free throws made it 104-98, New Jersey got two free throws by Terrence Williams with 3 seconds left. Williams then stole the ball from Kyle Weaver and made a layup at the buzzer to account for the final score.
The Nets lost their third straight since producing their seventh win of the season. Devin Harris scored 19 for New Jersey.
New Jersey has 17 games remaining in which to avoid the worst single-season record in league history. Philadelphia holds the record, having won nine games in 1972-73.
