INDIANAPOLIS, March 12 (UPI) -- Evan Turner hit a 3-pointer from near half-court at the buzzer Friday, allowing No. 7 Ohio State to escape with a 69-68 Big Ten Tournament win over Michigan.

Michigan had fought back from nine points down with 7:56 to play and took the lead twice in the final 30 seconds on shots by Manny Harris.

The second of those put the Wolverines ahead 68-66 with 3 seconds left. Ohio State went to Tuner on the in-bounds play. He dribbled to one step beyond half-court and launched the shot that gave the Buckeyes the victory.

Turner played a big role in a 20-4 Ohio State run in the first half that put the Buckeyes comfortably ahead. But Michigan fought back, taking a 66-64 lead with 30 seconds left on a Harris jumper. David Lighty answered for Ohio State on the other end 16 seconds later.

Turner finished with 18 points and Lighty and William Buford each had 15 for Ohio State (24-7). Michigan (15-16) was paced by Harris's 26-point effort. Stu Douglass and DeShawn Sims had 16 apiece for Michigan.

Ohio State will go against Illinois (19-13) in Saturday's tournament semifinals, The Illini advanced with a 58-54 upset of No. 18 Wisconsin.
