Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

WASHINGTON, March 11 (UPI) -- Jamal Crawford scored 29 points Thursday and the Atlanta Hawks held on down the stretch to defeat Washington 105-99.
The Hawks ended a three-game road trip with a 1-2 mark, getting 18 points each from Joe Johnson and Al Horford. Mike Bibby scored 16 for Atlanta and hit a key 3-pointer that gave the Hawks a 97-91 cushion.
Andray Blatche had 30 points and 10 rebounds for the Wizards, but committed seven of Washington's 21 turnovers. The Wizards lost their fifth straight and remained stuck on just 12 victories for the season.
Washington attempted 13 shots from 3-point range and made only one of them. Atlanta has won the last eight meetings between the teams.
