KANSAS CITY, Mo., March 11 (UPI) -- A career-best 27 points from Jamar Samuels Thursday sent No. 9 Kansas State sailing into the Big 12 semifinals with an 83-64 whipping of Oklahoma State.
The Wildcats built a 25-point halftime lead and coasted the rest of the way to set up a semifinal meeting with either Baylor or Texas.
Samuels made 7-of-9 shots from the field and claimed 10 rebounds. Jacob Pullen added 19 points for Kansas State (25-6), which lost its last two games in the regular season.
Oklahoma State (22-10) was led by James Anderson with 27 points.
Kansas State went on an 11-point run to take a 23-8 lead near the midway point of the first half, but the Cowboys clawed back within 27-23 with 8:21 to go. The Wildcats then finished the opening half on a 24-3 surge to take control.
Kansas State gained revenge for a four-point loss at home to Oklahoma State Jan. 23.
