Ravens re-sign WR Derrick Mason

BALTIMORE, March 10 (UPI) -- The Baltimore Ravens and veteran free agent wide receiver Derrick Mason have come to terms on a two-year deal, the team said Wednesday.

Ravens General Manger Ozzie Newsome said Mason, who hauled down 73 passes for 1,028 yards and seven touchdowns last year for Baltimore, is a proven commodity.

"We know exactly what we're getting with Derrick and that's production," Newsome said. "Every Ravens fan knows what Derrick brings to this team. It's reliability, toughness, leadership, the fight to win, the want of the ball in the clutch times. He has a two-year history with Joe (Flacco) that says 'we know how to produce together.' They are on the same page."

Mason became an unrestricted free agent following the expiration of his five-year contract. He has collected 863 catches for 11,089 yards and 59 touchdowns in 202 career games with the Ravens and Titans/Oilers franchise.
