AUBURN HILLS, Mich., March 10 (UPI) -- Deron Williams was one of three Utah players with 18 points Wednesday and the Jazz rode a big second quarter to a 115-104 victory over Detroit.
It was the 42nd victory for Utah, ensuring the team's 21st winning season in 22 years under Coach Jerry Sloan.
Williams added 12 assists and was joined by Mehmet Okur and Paul Millsap with 18 points. Kyle Korver and Wesley Matthews both had 14 for Utah.
Utah defeated the Pistons for the 10th straight time, thanks in large part to a second period during which the Jazz outscored Detroit 35-14.
Charlie Villanueva led Detroit with 19 points. The Pistons have lost seven out of eight.
The Pistons are certain to have their second straight losing campaign after having reached the Eastern Conference finals in six out of seven seasons.
