NBA: Denver 110, Minnesota 102

MINNEAPOLIS, March 10 (UPI) -- Chauncey Billups scored 25 points Wednesday and the Denver Nuggets ran off 15 in a row beginning late in the third period to fight off Minnesota 110-102.

Denver opened a four-game road trip with its fourth straight victory. Minnesota has lost seven in a row.

The Timberwolves held a 73-71 lead with 3 minutes to go in the third period, but could not score again until the Nuggets had built an 86-73 lead 2 minutes deep in the fourth period.

Carmelo Anthony added 19 points for Denver, Nene had 17 and J.R. Smith 15.

Minnesota was led by Corey Brewer with 21 points.

Denver took four fewer shots than did Minnesota, but made five more.
