MIAMI, March 8 (UPI) -- The Miami Dolphins have re-signed quarterback Chad Pennington, the team said Monday.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed but The Miami Herald reported last week Pennington had signed a one-year contract worth $2.5 million to stay with the Dolphins after guiding them to an unexpected playoff spot in 2008.
Pennington was the Dolphins' starting QB at the start of the 2009-2010 season but went down with a season-ending shoulder injury in Game 3, allowing Chad Henne to take over Miami's signal-calling duties.
Pennington is a 10-year NFL veteran who spent the first eight years of his career with the New York Jets. He has thrown for over 3,000 yards three times, compiling 17,804 total career yards and 102 touchdowns in 89 games.
