Villegas breezes to 5-shot Honda win

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla., March 7 (UPI) -- Camilo Villegas notched his third career PGA Tour victory Sunday, cruising to a five-shot win at the Honda Classic.

Villegas carded a closing 2-under 68 for a four-round total of 13-under 267, handily beating Anthony Kim by five shots at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. The win was the first for the 28-year-old Colombian since he won back to-back FedEx Cup playoff events in 2008.

Kim fired a 3-under 67 to take second place at 8-under 272, while Justin Rose registered a 64 to finish third at 7-under 273.

Paul Casey (67) and Vijay Singh (72) tied for fourth at 6-under 274.

Villegas had grabbed sole possession of the Honda Classic lead Saturday, firing a 3-under 67. He ended 54 holes at 11-under 199, three strokes ahead Singh.

Villegas was in Colombia early last week to host the Nationwide Tour event in that country, and then hurried to Florida for Thursday's first round of the Honda Classic.
