Hantuchova of Slovakia rallied from a set down to defeat fellow countrywoman Cibulkova 4-6, 6-3, 6-0 at the Sierra Madre Tennis Club.

With the win, Hantuchova, 26, reached her first title match since 2007. She is 3-6 lifetime in title tilts.

The day ended at Monterrey without the Slovak knowing her finals opponent. Rain forced the postponement of the second semifinal between No. 3 seed Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Anastasija Sevastova of Latvia.

The make-up was set for Sunday, with the winner facing Hantuchova later in the day.

Wild's Boogaard draws 2-game suspension

ST. PAUL, Minn., March 6 (UPI) -- Minnesota Wild forward Derek Boogaard has drawn a two-game suspension for a kneeing incident in Edmonton, league officials said Saturday.

The National Hockey League levied the penalty after Boogaard was called for a kneeing minor penalty in the first period of Friday's Wild-Oilers contest after colliding with Edmonton's Jones.

The suspension was Boogaard's second this year -- he was suspended for five games without pay for an elbow to the head of Calgary's Brandon Prust on Feb. 28 -- and so is eligible as a repeat offender for a $20,000 penalty.

With the suspension, Boogaard is eligible to return to the Wild March 11 against Detroit.

Packers re-sign OT Clifton

GREEN BAY, Wis., March 6 (UPI) -- Offensive tackle Chad Clifton has re-signed with the Green Bay Packers, the team said Sunday.

Packers General Manager Ted Thompson did not release the terms of the deal, but reports have indicated Clifton was seeking a three-year, $20 million contract, with $7.5 million of the amount guaranteed.

Clifton, 33, has been a stalwart on the Packers' offensive line since 2000 and was reportedly being wooed by the Washington Redskins. He has missed just six regular season games since 2003.

"We are happy to be able to have Chad as a member of the Packers," Thompson said. "He has been a valuable teammate and contributor to our team."

Cubs' Guzman tears shoulder ligament

MESA, Ariz., March 6 (UPI) -- Chicago Cubs reliever Angel Guzman won't be ready for opening day after tearing a ligament in his right shoulder, the team said Saturday.

Cubs officials said an MRI exam performed Friday revealed the "significant" injury after Guzman told trainers he was feeling discomfort. Guzman, who was recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery, had not yet appeared in a spring training game.

Guzman, 28, is considered a key piece of Chicago's bullpen after appearing last year in a career-high 55 games, when he posted a 3-3 record and 2.95 earned run average over 61 innings. During that span, he struck out 47 and issued 23 walks.

He was pulled from bullpen in late September after complaining of soreness in the area of his right armpit.

Guzman sports a 3-10 lifetime record with a 4.82 ERA over parts of four seasons for the Cubs.
