
ATLANTA, March 5 (UPI) -- Al Horford started a streak of eight straight successful Atlanta free throws in the last 44 seconds Friday and the Hawks hung on to defeat Golden State 127-122.
Josh Smith had a season-best 29 points and Horford had 27 points to go with 15 rebounds.
Atlanta won its fourth straight to remain two games behind Orlando in the race for the Southeast Division lead.
Horford, Smith, Jamal Crawford and Marvin Williams all made two foul shots down the stretch to fight off the Warriors, who shot 50 percent and got at least 20 points from four players.
Stephen Curry had 31 for the Warriors, Anthony Morrow scored 21 and both Anthony Tolliver and C.J. Watson had 20.
The teams combined to take 169 shots from the field and made 87 of them. Golden State has lost three in a row.
