
SUNRISE, Fla., March 3 (UPI) -- David Booth and Bryan McCabe collected four points each Wednesday and the Florida Panthers halted a seven-game losing streak with a 7-4 win over Philadelphia.
Florida was protecting a 3-2 lead in the second period when Jason Garrison, Stephen Weiss and Michael Frolik all scored in a span of 5 minutes. It was the first goal of the season for Garrison, who was playing in his 19th game.
Booth and McCabe had one goal and three assists each and Tomas Vokoun, who was in goal for the Czech Republic during the Olympics, made 38 saves.
Philadelphia had a five-game winning streak halted.
Michael Leighton was removed from goal after allowing four scores on 26 shots. Brian Boucher finished up by giving up two goals on 16 shots.
Florida had not scored more than two goals in any of its previous 15 games. The seven goals equaled the highest total for the Panthers this season.
