ALBUQUERQUE, March 3 (UPI) -- Darington Hobson scored 20 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and dished out seven assists Wednesday to lead No. 10 New Mexico to a 73-66 win over TCU.
With the win, the Lobos (28-3, 14-2 MWC) notched their 14th straight victory and clinched the Mountain West Conference title outright, the first time they have done so in 16 years.
New Mexico's 28 wins tied a school record set during the 1995-96 season.
Senior Roman Martinez scored 19 in his final home game and Dairese Gary added 16 for the Lobos. They used an 11-0 second-half run to erase a 44-40 TCU lead and go in front for good, capped by a Hobson layup.
The Horned Frogs (13-17, 5-10) were led by Ronnie Moss with 14 points, while Zvonko Buljan added 12 and hauled down 11 rebounds.
