
AUSTIN, Texas, March 2 (UPI) -- Damion James struck for 24 points and hauled down eight rebounds Monday, rallying No. 25 Texas to an 87-76 win over Oklahoma.
The Longhorns (23-7, 9-6 Big 12), who had trailed by as many as 13 points, didn't post their first lead until 9 minutes were left in the game, when J'Covan Brown (15 points) connected on a basket to make it 58-56 in the midst of a 16-4 Texas run.
The spurt was capped by a tip-in by Dexter Pittman (14 points), giving the Longhorns a 68-60 lead and some breathing room the rest of the way. Gary Johnson contributed 14 points while Jordan Hamilton added 12 points and 11 boards in the win.
Oklahoma was led by Tony Crocker with 24 points and Cade Davis with 22, while Tiny Gallon contributed 15 points and nine rebounds in the loss.
