James, Boozer gain Player of Month honors

NEW YORK, March 1 (UPI) -- The Cleveland Cavaliers' LeBron James and Carlos Boozer of the Utah Jazz Monday were named the NBA Players of the Month for February.

James, who took the Eastern Conference honors, led the NBA in scoring (32.6 points per game) and posted averages of 10.5 assists, 6.8 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game while lifting the Cavs to an Eastern Conference-best 8-3 record.

In February, the 6-foot-8 star forward scored at least 20 points in all 11 games and set a team record with 35 first-half points in Cleveland's Feb. 6 113-106 win at New York.

Boozer took the Western Conference prize by averaging 21.2 points and 13 rebounds per game, leading Utah to a 10-3 mark. During the month, he notched nine double-doubles in 11 games.
