Yankees sign pitcher Park to 1-year deal

NEW YORK, Feb. 28 (UPI) -- Right-handed pitcher Chan Ho Park has signed a one-year contract with the New York Yankees, team officials said Sunday.

Park, 36, pitched for the Philadelphia Phillies against the Yanks in last year's World Series, allowing two hits and a walk with three strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings over four appearances.

Last year he posted a 3-3 record with a 4.43 ERA in 45 games for Philadelphia, including seven starts.

Park made his major league debut with the Dodgers in 1994 and has also pitched for Texas, San Diego and the Mets, sporting a 120-95 career record.
