CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., Feb. 28 (UPI) -- Kyle Singler and Jon Scheyer combined for 41 points Sunday to pace No. 5 Duke to a 67-49 victory over Virginia.

Singler pumped in 21 points and Scheyer added 20 with five steals as the Blue Devils (25-4, 12-2 ACC) won their eighth straight game ahead of a key ACC battle this week against Maryland.

The game was decided early as Duke scored 10 of first 12 points. Singler's 3-point play capped a run that saw the Blue Devils extend their lead to 20-4. They eventually stretched their first-half advantage to as many as 17 points.

Virginia (14-13, 5-9) never got back into the contest. Jerome Meyinsse led the Cavaliers with 21 points and seven rebounds in the loss.
