NEW YORK, Feb. 26 (UPI) -- Los Angeles Lakers center Andrew Bynum was fined Friday by the NBA for comments he made about game officiating.

The NBA fined Bynum $25,000 after he spoke about referees following the Lakers' 101-96 loss Wednesday at Dallas. NBA Executive Vice President Stu Jackson announced the fine Friday.

Bynum said he asked officials during the game about some calls and was given little explanation. Bynum, in post-game comments, concluded that "it's hard to play 8 on 5."

Bynum had 10 points and 11 rebounds against Dallas in the game, but only two points and two rebounds in the second half. He averages 15.1 points and 8.2 rebounds a game this season.
