
LOS ANGELES, Feb. 25 (UPI) -- Rasual Butler had 16 points, 12 in the fourth quarter, and his 3-pointer with 25.3 seconds left helped the Los Angeles Clippers beat Detroit 97-91 Wednesday.
Chris Kaman had 21 points and 15 rebounds, Drew Gooden had 20 points and 13 rebounds, and Eric Gordon scored 13 for the Clippers, who won their third straight game under interim Coach Kim Hughes. Baron Davis finished with 10 points, seven rebounds and seven assists for LA.
Richard Hamilton -- who came into the contest with a streak of 51 straight free throws made -- went 2-for-8 from the line Wednesday, missing three foul shots in the game's closing moments. Hamilton scored 21 points to lead the Pistons, who lost for the first time in their last three games.
The Clippers swept the season series with Detroit for the first time in nine seasons.
