
DURHAM, N.C., Feb. 25 (UPI) -- Nolan Smith, Kyle Singler and Jon Scheyer teamed up for 50 points Thursday, lifting No. 5 Duke to a 70-52 non-conference victory over Tulsa.
The Blue Devils (24-4) used a tough defense to hold Tulsa to 34.9 percent shooting from the floor. Smith scored 18 points, Singler added 17 and Scheyer contributed 15 in the win while Brian Zoubek chipped in with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
After struggling in the first half to post a 34-30 lead at the break, Duke went on an 11-0 run, highlighted by six straight from Smith and capped by Scheyer's 3-pointer, for a 45-34 advantage at the 16-minute mark.
The Blue Devils later notched an 8-0 streak to push the margin to 20, 60-40, midway through the second frame.
Jerome Jordan led the Golden Hurricane (19-9) with 12 points and eight rebounds.
