Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

ST. LOUIS, Feb. 25 (UPI) -- The National Hockey League Thursday handed St. Louis Blues forward Cam Janssen a five-game suspension for delivering a blind hit.
Janssen was whistled for a five-minute major penalty during the Feb. 13 contest when he dealt a late hit to the head of Washington forward Matt Bradley. The Blues went on to win the game 4-3 in a shootout.
Janssen was also fined $14,250 as part of the suspension, which will be donated to the NHL Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
The Blues forward has yet to register a point so far this season, yet has piled up 163 penalty minutes in 38 games. He will be able to return to the lineup March 14 at Minnesota.
