Olympic Medal: M Mass Start Biathlon

WHISTLER, British Columbia, Feb. 21 (UPI) -- Evgeny Ustyugov of Russia won the Olympic gold medal Sunday in the men's biathlon mass start 15-kilometer race.

The silver went to Martin Fourcade of France and the bronze to Pavol Hurajt of Slovakia.

Norway's Ole Einar Bjoerndalen, who was trying to move within one medal of equaling the all-time Winter Olympics record of 12, barely avoided finishing last in a field of 30. Bjoerndalen missed seven of his 20 attempts on the shooting range and thus had to ski an extra 1,050 meters.
