BOGOTA, Feb. 21 (UPI) -- Home crowd favorite Mariana Duque Marino of Colombia breezed to a win Sunday at the Copa Colsanitas tennis tournament in Bogota.

Duque Marino dispatched German Angelique Kerber 6-4, 6-3, in claiming her first WTA Tour title in front of thrilled Colombian fans.

No. 5 seed Kerber was also playing in her first WTA final.

With the win, Duque Marino took home a first prize of $37,000. She had reached the quarterfinals of this event two years ago -- her previous best previous finish on the WTA Tour.
