MADISON, Wis., Feb. 21 (UPI) -- Jason Bohannon scored 17 points and Jordan Taylor added 16 Sunday in lifting No. 16 Wisconsin to a 70-63 victory over Northwestern.
Jon Leuer finished with 11 points and three blocks -- including a key stuff late in the game -- and Trevon Hughes chipped in 13 points and five rebounds for Wisconsin (20-7, 10-5 Big Ten), which won its fourth game in six outings.
A pair of free throws by Northwestern's John Shurna capped a 7-2 spurt that pulled the Wildcats to within 64-63 with 2:10 to play but Leuer's block of a potential tying shot helped the Badgers clamp down on defense the rest of the way.
Shurna led all scorers with 26 points for Northwestern (17-10, 6-9), while Luka Mirkovic, Drew Crawford, Michael Thompson and Jeremy Nash each contributed eight points in the loss.
