
LUBBOCK, Texas, Feb. 20 (UPI) -- Gary Johnson had 22 points and eight rebounds Saturday to lead No. 17 Texas to a 71-67 Big 12 victory over Texas Tech.
Damion James had 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Longhorns (21-6, 7-5), who have won just four of their last 10 games and were out to avenge their 82-77 loss to Missouri.
Dogus Balbay suffered a left knee injury in the first half and was to undergo an MRI Sunday.

Nick Okorie led Texas Tech (16-10, 4-8) with 21 including a 3-pointer and a free throw that got the Red Raiders within 69-67, but missed the tying basket in the final seconds.
Red Raiders Coach Pat Knight was hit with a technical for arguing an intentional foul called on Darko Cohadarevic 5 minutes into the second half.
Texas logged five 3-pointers in the opening 8 minutes and opened up a 15-point lead in the first half but Texas Tech whittled that down to 37-30 at the break.
