Olympic Medal: M Figure Skating

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Feb. 19 (UPI) -- Evan Lysacek of the United States won the Olympic gold medal Thursday in men's figure skating.

The silver went to Evgeni Plushenko of Russia and the bronze to Daisuke Takahashi of Japan.

Lysacek became the first American winner of the event since Brian Boitano the last time the Winter Olympics were held in Canada -- Calgary, 1988.
