Ferrero is 2nd-round winner in Argentina

BUENOS AIRES, Feb. 18 (UPI) -- Juan Carlos Ferrero, the No. 2 seed, coasted to a straight-set victory Wednesday in the Copa Telmex tennis tournament in Buenos Aires.

Ferrero, a former world No. 1 player from Spain, took down Marcos Daniel of Brazil 6-2, 6-4.

Spain's Albert Montanes, the fifth seed, also had a dominating win, defeating countryman Pablo Andujar 6-3, 6-2.

Santiago Ventura, a qualifier from Spain, upset the seventh seed, Romania's Victor Hanescu, 6-4, 7-6 (12-10).

David Nalbandian of Argentina, who won the tournament in 2008, dropped the opening set but came back to down Spaniard Daniel Gimeno-Traver 6-7 (5-7), 6-4, 7-6 (9-7).
