Bulls ship forward Thomas to Charlotte

CHICAGO, Feb. 18 (UPI) -- The Chicago Bulls traded forward Tyrus Thomas to the Charlotte Bobcats Thursday for guards Acie Law and Flip Murray.

Bulls' team officials said they also received a future first-round pick in the exchange.

Thomas, 23, a four-year forward, averaged 8.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.7 blocks in 29 games for Chicago this season. The former LSU star was taken by Chicago fourth overall in 2006. In 254 career games he has averaged 7.8 points, 5.1 boards and 1.4 blocks.

Eight-year NBA veteran Murray, meanwhile, is scoring 9.9 points per contest in 46 games for the Bobcats.

Law, a former first-round choice by the Atlanta Hawks, has averaged 3.4 points per game in just over seven minutes per contest this year.
