MEMPHIS, Feb. 16 (UPI) -- American Melanie Oudin Tuesday rolled into the second round of the Regions Morgan Keegan Championships & the Cellular South Cup tennis event in Memphis.
The No. 2 seed breezed by fellow American Alexa Glatch in straight sets 6-2, 6-2 at The Racquet Club of Memphis in one hour, 16 minutes.
Czech wild card Nicole Vaidisova had little trouble with American Laura Granville, winning 6-4, 6-2, while another American, Lilia Osterloh, outlasted Canadian Stephanie Dubois 3-6, 6-4, 6-4.
A mild upset was posted by Croat Karolina Sprem, who downed No. 4 seed Czech Lucie Hradecka 6-4, 6-4. No. 8 seed Brit Elena Baltacha dismissed Czech Renata Voracova 7-5, 6-1.
