Olympic Medal: Pairs Figure Skating

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Feb. 16 (UPI) -- Shen Xue and Zhao Hongbo of China won the Olympic gold medal Monday in pairs figure skating.

The Chinese couple skated in their fourth and last Olympics and ended a 50-year domination of Russian skaters in the pairs event.

Another Chinese duo, Pang Qing and Tong Jian, jumped from fourth place after the short program to earn the silver medal. The bronze went to current world champions Aliona Savchenko and Robin Szokowy of Germany.
