Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

BOGOTA, Feb. 16 (UPI) -- No. 1 seed Gisela Dulko of Argentina scored a first-round win Tuesday at the Copa Colsanitas tennis tournament in Bogota.
Dulko wasn't much threatened by France's Mathilde Johansson, downing her 6-4, 6-4 on the red clay courts. Dulko finished second in last year's Bogota tourney to Spain's Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez.
With the win, Dulko goes on to face Romanian Edina Gallovits.
Second-seeded Spaniard Carla Suarez was ousted in a 6-1, 6-4 upset engineered by Ukrainian qualifier Khrystyna Antoniychuk, while wild-card Colombian Catalina Castano defeated fourth-seeded Slovenian Polona Hercog 7-5, 6-2.
The No. 7 seed, Czech Klara Zakopalova, staged a rally against American Lauren Albanese to win 4-6, 7-6 (7-2), 6-1.
