Olympic Medal: M Singles Luge

WHISTLER, British Columbia, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- Felix Loch of Germany won the Olympic gold medal Sunday in luge singles.

Loch led after each of the four runs in an event that was contested as scheduled despite the death of a luge athlete during training Friday.

The silver medal went to David Moeller of Germany and the bronze was claimed by Armin Zoeggeler of Italy -who won this event in each of the last two Olympics and finished second 12 years ago.

Zoeggeler won his fifth Olympic medal overall, tying Germany's Georg Hackl for the most luge medals in the history of the Games.
