UNIONDALE, N.Y., Feb. 14 (UPI) -- Mike Fisher scored with 9:14 left in regulation to cap a three-goal rally Sunday, lifting the Ottawa Senators to a 4-3 victory over the New York Islanders.
Fisher redirected a Filip Kuba shot from the left point that slipped by three skaters on its way to the net, tipping it past Dwayne Roloson to put the Senators ahead. Ottawa had trailed 3-1 earlier in the contest.
Alex Kovalev, who had a goal and two assists, also scored in the third-period comeback, as did Jason Spezza.
Jarkko Ruutu scored and Brian Elliot stopped 34 shots to help the Senators move back into first place in the Northeast Division heading into the Winter Olympics break. They have won 14 of their last 16 games.
Blake Comeau scored twice for the Islanders, losers of nine of their last 11 games. New York also got a goal from Matt Moulson while Roloson allowed three goals on 10 shots in the final period.
