NEW YORK, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- Erik Christensen tallied twice and added a helper Sunday as the New York Rangers scored five straight goals to down Tampa Bay 5-2.

Four of New York's unanswered goals came during a decisive second period. Christensen got both his scores in the period less than two minutes apart to put the Rangers up 4-2.

New York also got scores from Vinny Prospal, Sean Avery and Chris Drury to boost the Blue Shirts to their third win in four games heading into the Winter Olympics break.

Goalie Henrik Lundqvist made 27 saves as he prepared to lead Team Sweden in its attempt to win a second straight Olympic ice hockey gold medal.

Steven Stamkos tied a Lightning record by registering a point in his 13th straight game, notching a goal and an assist.

Steve Downie also lit the lamp and collected an assist for Tampa Bay.
