COL BKB: Villanova 92, Providence 81

PHILADELPHIA, Feb. 13 (UPI) -- Scottie Reynolds and Corey Fisher registered 22 points each Saturday, pacing No. 5 Villanova to a 92-81 triumph over Providence.

The Wildcats (22-2, 11-1 Big East) needed to hang on against Providence, using a late surge to pull away in the waning minutes.

Villanova also got 15 points and 12 rebounds from Antonio Pena.

Vincent Council ended with 21 points, six assists and five rebounds to lead the Friars (12-13, 4-9). Jamine Peterson poured in 19 points and grabbed 10 boards while Sharaud Curry also chipped in with 19 in the loss.
