
LOS ANGELES, Feb. 12 (UPI) -- Lubomir Visnovsky's goal in the 10th round of a shootout Thursday boosted Edmonton to a 4-3 victory at Los Angeles.
It was the last NHL encounter before the two-week break for the Winter Games in Vancouver.
Ryan Smyth (19) scored at 15:12 of the third, creating a 2-2 tie through regulation.
Dustin Penner 24 (power play) also scored in regulation, while net-minder Jeff Deslauriers was credited with 41 saves on 43 shots for the Oilers, who ended an 11-game road losing streak.
Denis Grebeshkov and Dustin Penner scored once each, while net-minder Erik Ersberg yielded two goals on 23 shots in regulation for the Kings, who have lost two in a row following a franchise-record nine-game winning streak.
Ersberg made his first start since Jan. 11 for Jonathan Quick, who was battling the flu.
