COL BKB: Purdue 76, Michigan State 64

EAST LANSING, Mich., Feb. 10 (UPI) -- E'Twaun Moore scored 25 points and JaJuan Johnson added 19 Tuesday to propel No. 6 Purdue to a 76-64 victory over No. 10 Michigan State.

Robbie Hummel netted 15 points for the Boilermakers (20-3, 8-3 Big Ten), who used the win to move within a half-game of surging Illinois and slumping Michigan State at the top of the Big Ten standings.

The Spartans (19-6, 9-3) got 21 points from Chris Allen, while Kalin Lucas returned from an ankle sprain to add 12 points.

Purdue used a 13-0 run midway through the first half to seal the win. A jumper by Johnson ignited the spurt, tying the score at 17, and his slam dunk finished the run with about 7 minutes left in the half.

The Boilermakers went on to post a 47-33 lead at the break after Hummel connected on a 3-pointer just before the horn.
