Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

MIAMI, Feb. 10 (UPI) -- James Dews hit a jump shot just before the buzzer Wednesday, lifting Miami to a 64-62 victory over No. 20 Georgia Tech.
Miami won for just the second time in eight games and had to fight off a comeback by the Yellow Jackets to do it.
The Hurricanes (17-7, 3-7 ACC) led by as many as 13 points early in the second half, but Georgia Tech tied it on a layup by Iman Schumpert with 9 seconds to play.
Dews, however, gave Miami the win by making just his third shot in 11 tries. Dwayne Collins paced Miami with 13 points and Adrian Thomas had 12.
Brian Oliver scored 19 off the bench for Georgia Tech (17-7, 5-5).
