NHL: Tampa Bay 3, Vancouver 1

TAMPA, Fla., Feb. 9 (UPI) -- Martin St. Louis scored twice in the third period Tuesday, delivering the Tampa Bay Lightning a 3-1 victory over Vancouver.

Tampa Bay got its other goal from Steven Stamkos, who also picked up an assist. Goalie Antero Niittymaki registered 39 saves as the Bolts won their fourth straight game and seventh in nine tries.

St. Louis's first goal -- an unassisted, short-handed tally -- put the Lightning up 2-1 at the 2:52 mark of the final frame. He then scored an insurance goal on a feed from Stamkos with 4:20 left.

Ryan Kesler lit the lamp for the Canucks, who lost three of their first five games on a 14-game road trip.

The Canucks' Roberto Luongo allowed three goals on just 19 shots.
