Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24
OTTAWA, Feb. 9 (UPI) -- Jason Spezza's second-period goal provided the winning margin Tuesday in the Ottawa Senators' 3-2 victory over Calgary.
The Senators also got goals from Alex Kovalev and Jarkko Ruutu. Ottawa goalie Brian Elliott blocked 27 shots.
The win allowed Ottawa to bounce back from a stinging 5-0 loss Saturday in Toronto which came hard on the heels of a franchise-record 11-game winning streak.
Calgary got goals from Niklas Hagman and Matt Stajan. Miikka Kiprusoff registered 28 saves for the losers.
