MADISON, Wis., Feb. 9 (UPI) -- Demetri McCamey scored 27 points, pacing Illinois to a 63-56 win Tuesday that broke No. 13 Wisconsin's 18-game home winning streak.
Mike Tisdale added 19 as he and McCamey combined to score all but 17 of Illinois' points in a win that pulled the Fighting Illini (17-8, 9-3 Big Ten) within a half-game of Michigan State in the conference standings.
D.J. Richardson contributed nine points in the victory, the first for an unranked opponent in Madison since 2000. Illinois shot a solid 53.3 percent from the field in the win.
The Illini went on a 9-0 run after Wisconsin's Jason Bohannon had tied the score 53-53 on a 3-pointer with 5 minutes left to ice the win.
Bohannon led Wisconsin (19-5, 8-4) with 15 points. Trevon Hughes added 12 and Keaton Nankivil chipped in with nine for the Badgers, who had beaten Illinois in six of their last seven meetings.
