NBA: Orlando 123, New Orleans 117

ORLANDO, Fla., Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Vince Carter poured in 48 points Monday, driving the Orlando Magic to a 123-117 victory over the New Orleans Hornets.

Carter had 34 points in the second half, helping Orlando erase a 17-point deficit en route to its sixth win in seven games. He hit 19-of-27 field goal tries, including 6-of-10 from 3-point range.

Dwight Howard put up 25 points and blocked four shots for the Magic.

Peja Stojakovic scored 29 points and Darren Collison and David West had 27 each for the Hornets, who have lost four of their last five games.
