Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Feb. 7 (UPI) -- Steve Mason made 28 saves Saturday to lead Columbus to a 4-0 win over the Buffalo Sabres.
The win was the fourth shutout of the season for Mason and the second consecutive win for the Blue Jackets since Claude Noel replaced Kevin Hitchcock as head coach.
Rick Nash, Anton Stralman, Milan Jurcina and Raffi Torres scored the Blue Jackets' goals.
Jakub Voracek picked up three assists in the win.
Patrick Lalime stopped 21 shots for Buffalo.
Jurcina opened the scoring for Columbus at 2:17 of the second period. Nash made it 2-0 on a power play with 4:28 to play in the period.
Stralman scored just 46 seconds into the third period, and Torres made it 4-0 on a power play at 2:09.
