
MINNEAPOLIS, Feb. 7 (UPI) -- Ryan Gomes scored 26 points to lead the Minnesota Timberwolves past the Memphis Grizzlies 109-102 Saturday.
The Timberwolves extended their winning streak to a season-high four games, while the Grizzlies lost the fifth of their last six.
Al Jefferson scored 23 for Minnesota and added seven rebounds. Ramon Sessions came off the bench to tally 19 points.
Rudy Gay had 27 for Memphis. Zach Randolph scored 14 points and had 13 rebounds.
Memphis held a two-point lead at the start of the fourth quarter, but had to battle back to tie it 97-97 on a Gomes 3-pointer with 3:19 remaining.
Gomes came through with another trey with 2:16 to play to break a 99-99 tie and Kevin Love scored a 3-pointer to put Minnesota ahead by five with 1:14 left. Sessions sealed it with a pair of free throws.
