PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif., Feb. 6 (UPI) -- Steve Stricker jumped into a five-shot lead at the Northern Trust Open before suspension of Saturday's third round because of darkness.

Stricker, 14-under for the tournament and 4-under for the day, was on the 15th hole when play at Rivera was halted after a rain-delayed start.

Luke Donald and J.B. Holmes were in the clubhouse tied for second at 9-under 204. Andres Romero was in third at 9-under after 14 holes.

The third round will be completed early Sunday morning and officials expect the final round to be wrapped up later in the day with the field playing in threesomes off split tees.
