NBA: Minnesota 117, Dallas 108

DALLAS, Feb. 6 (UPI) -- Jonny Flynn and Corey Brewer combined to score 10 points down the stretch Friday and Minnesota fought off a Dallas comeback to down the Mavericks 117-108.

Dallas had won its previous 13 meetings with the Timberwolves.

Minnesota had a nine-point lead to start the final period, but Dallas took a 106-104 advantage on Jason Kidd's two free throws with 2:35 to play.

Brewer then hit a 3-pointer to put Minnesota in front and, after Dirk Nowitzki made a free throw for Dallas to tie it, Flynn made a layup that gave the Timberwolves the lead for good with 1:39 to go.

Brewer helped Minnesota pull away by making all three free throws after being fouled attempting a 3-pointer with 1:02 remaining.

Minnesota won on the road for only the fourth time in 25 tries. Flynn led the Timberwolves in scoring with 19 points. Kevin Love added 17 as part of Minnesota's third straight victory.

Nowitzki paced the Mavericks with 21.
