TAMPA, Fla., Feb. 5 (UPI) -- A woman alleges in a lawsuit filed in Broward County, Fla., she was raped by former NFL player Michael Irvin more than two years ago.

The woman, identified only as Jane Doe in Broward County Circuit Court documents, alleges in July 2007 she was raped by the former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa, Fla., the Miami Herald said Friday.

The woman alleges Irvin, 43, lured her to at hotel room where he and another man insisted on sexual favors after placing money into her clothes.

The alleged victim claims in the civil lawsuit the second man, whose identity was not released, held her down as Irvin raped her. The second man later forced the woman to perform oral sex, the suit alleges.

The woman also alleges Irvin's brother, Derrick, helped cover up the crimes.

Attorney Larry Friedman, who represents Irvin, denied the allegations against the former Cowboys star.

Seminole Tribe spokesman Gary Bitner told the Herald that police did investigate the alleged incident after it was reported more than a week later, but there was no forensic evidence available.
