EDMONTON, Alberta, Feb. 4 (UPI) -- Jeff Deslauriers stopped 33 shots and put together the second shutout of his career Wednesday in leading Edmonton to a 1-0 win over Philadelphia.
The game was scoreless until Ryan Potulny tallied on the power play with only 17 seconds left in the third period.
The Oilers captured their second straight game after losing 13 in a row. They avoided matching the longest losing streak in franchise history when they defeated Carolina Monday.
Deslauriers is in his second NHL season and his second shutout came in his 40th career appearance. His other blanking came on Nov. 23 against Phoenix.
Potulny's goal came with Darroll Powe in the penalty box for high sticking. A slapshot from Potulny bested Michael Leighton, who stopped the other 26 shots he faced.
