DENVER, Feb. 4 (UPI) -- Jason Richardson and Amare Stoudemire scored 20 points each Wednesday in leading Phoenix to a 109-97 triumph over Denver.

The Nuggets had hoped to have leading scorer Carmelo Anthony back on the court Wednesday, but he missed his sixth straight game with his latest in a series of injuries. Anthony played only six games in January, although the Nuggets went 12-3 during the month.

Phoenix steadily built a lead against the Nuggets, taking a 14-point advantage into the fourth quarter en route to its fourth straight win. Denver lost at home for only the fourth time.

The Suns shot 49 percent from the field and made all but one of their 15 foul shots.

J.R. Smith led a balanced Denver attack with 15 points.
